This site has been created to give recognition to those people in the northwest who are making a difference in other people's lives or for our environment. The motivation behind nwheroes.com is to remind ourselves that besides so much of the negative news we hear and read about, that there are also positive and good events happening too! Nwheroes.com wants to recognize and give appreciation to those people of the northwest who are positively contributing to others' or to our environment.
What would a nwhero 'look' like? (Please click on this row to see the 'drop down' answer)
Examples of nwheroes could range from anyone (or a group), such as a nurse, counselor (of any kind), teacher, coach, a public service employee, or charitable organization. Other examples would include someone who helps out their neighbor, a volunteer, or a person who assists someone with a mental or physical challenge. In addition, if you know of someone who is doing something to help improve our environment, this person or persons would also be known as a nwhero. In summary, anyone, or a group of people, who you feel are making a positive difference in another person's life or lives, or for our environment would qualify to be acknowledged by nwheroes.com.
How does the selection of nwheroes.com work? (Please click on this row to see the 'drop down' answer)
To first note, ALL PEOPLE submitted on here as a Nwhero are WINNERS!! Also, whoever happens to receive the most votes will win $175.00. 20% of this will go to the charity of that nwheroe's choice, (unless this person or group wants to give more). In addition, the person whom receives the second amount of votes will receive $100.00 20% of this will also go to the charity of their choice, (unless the person or group wants to give more.The 3rd & 4th person or groups can also give more than 20% if they wish). The person whom receives the third amount of votes will receive $75 and 20% of that will go to the charity of their choice, (unless the person or group wants to give more). Finally, the person with the 4th amount of votes will receive $50.00 20% of this will also go to the charity of their choice.. Again, please remember that ALL CANDIDATES are NWHEROES.
How do I submit a person or group for this? (Please click on this row to see the 'drop down' answer)
First, you would simply go to the 'Submit a Nwhero' page. Following this, you would simply create a username with a password that will allow you access for the future; if you need to change or edit something about the person or group who you submitted. Once you've done this, then you can write up to a third of a page (or about 230 words) as to why you are submitting this person or group to nwheroes.com. You would need to explain the reasons why you feel this person is a nwhero. As soon as you submit this, we will review it. After review and of course given that it meets the nwhero descriptors of above, we will post it live online!
Each month nwheroes.com will profile 4 different people or groups who are contributing positively in another person's life/lives or to our environment.
